I process non-accounting data for clients (statistics, management systems): ATECO code 63.10.29 or 63.10.21?
63.10.29 when the data processed is not accounting data. Accounting data processing has its own dedicated code: 63.10.21.
I do data processing but also provide servers and hosting: do I need a separate code?
Often yes, for the infrastructure component. 63.10.29 covers data processing as a service; hosting and IT infrastructure for others falls under 63.10.10.
I also publish datasets I have built: is that 63.10.29 or an editorial code?
It depends. If you process the data as a service for the client, 63.10.29 applies. If, on the other hand, you publish the dataset as an editorial product with no associated processing services, the relevant code is 58.19.00.
