Frequently asked questions
I service vending machines and shop scales — does this ATECO apply, or should I use the one for office machinery?
Yes, scales and automatic vending machines have this dedicated code. For photocopiers, calculators, and other professional office machines, use 33.12.51 instead.
I also restock vending machines on top of repairing them — is this still the right code?
No — this code covers only the repair and maintenance of the machine itself. Managing and restocking vending machines is a retail activity classified outside division 33. For other general-purpose machinery not covered elsewhere, see 33.12.59.
I calibrate and re-certify industrial scales for a company in addition to repairing them — this code or the one for measuring instruments?
Yes for commercial weighing scales and weighing equipment, with calibration included as part of the maintenance. If your work involves electronic measuring, testing, and inspection instruments, the relevant code is the catch-all 33.13.09.
